How it works

Four phases, in order.

There is no shortcut and nobody should pretend otherwise. Here is the actual sequence, start to finish.

Phase 01

Talk it through

A certified specialist looks at what you owe, to whom, and what your month actually looks like. Fifteen minutes, free, and you can hang up at any point.

Phase 02

Set aside

Instead of paying creditors directly, you deposit one amount each month into a dedicated account held in your name. You own that money and can withdraw it at any time without penalty.

Phase 03

Negotiate

Once enough has built up, negotiators approach your creditors to resolve the balances for less than the full amount. Every offer comes back to you for approval before anything is paid.

Phase 04

Resolve

As each account is paid under its agreed terms, that debt is behind you. When the last one closes, the program is done.

Straight talk

What these programs cover — and what they don't.

Half the calls we route end with a specialist saying "this isn't the right fit for you." That is a good outcome. Here is the line.

The people on the other end

Nobody calls us on a good day. The job is to take twenty minutes, lay out every option honestly — including the ones that don't pay us — and let the person decide.

A certified debt specialist in our partner network

Every provider we route to is licensed in the state where you live and accredited through recognized industry bodies. If a provider stops meeting that bar, they come out of the network.

About Us
Questions

The things people actually ask.

How do I know if I qualify for debt relief?

Most programs review consumers carrying at least $10,000 in unsecured debt — credit cards, personal loans, medical bills, collections, and some private student loans — who are finding the monthly minimums hard to keep up with. A specialist confirms eligibility on the call. It takes about fifteen minutes and costs nothing.

What does it cost me to talk to someone?

Nothing. Our service is free to you. We are paid a referral fee by the provider you are matched with, never by you. Federal law also bars a debt relief provider from charging you a fee until it has settled or renegotiated at least one of your debts and you have made a payment under that arrangement.

How long does a debt relief program take?

Programs generally run 24 to 48 months. The actual length depends on how much debt you enroll, how much you set aside each month, and how your individual creditors respond. Your specialist will walk you through what that timeline looks like for your situation before you commit to anything.

Will this affect my credit?

Yes, and you should go in expecting that. A debt relief program normally means you stop paying your creditors directly, which can lead to late marks, collection activity, added interest, and in some cases a lawsuit from a creditor. It is a serious step. It is also why the first call is about whether the program actually fits you rather than signing you up.

Which debts can be enrolled?

Unsecured debt is generally eligible: credit and retail cards, most personal loans, medical bills, collections, lines of credit, and some private student loans. Secured debt is not — that includes mortgages, auto loans, and title loans. Federal student loans, tax debt, and child support are also outside these programs.

How many providers will contact me?

You are matched with the accredited providers licensed to operate in your state, so the number varies. In most cases it is one to three. You can ask any of them to stop contacting you at any time, and you are never obligated to enroll.

Is my information handled safely?

Your details are transmitted over an encrypted connection and shared only with the licensed providers matched to your situation. You can request deletion of your information, or opt out of any sale or sharing of it, from our Do Not Sell page at any time.
